Title: Clader hose reel users
Post by: steven ainger on October 25, 2011, 07:06:58 pm
Are you having problems with the hose connector ( in the centre of the reel )
Popping off, then having to reel out 100m of hose to reconnect,
Or is it just me ???

That will be your hot water - you need to back the pressure off a bit when using hot.

Which connector are you using on the centre of the reel? Have not heard of this happening before.

Strange - must be some effect of the hot water flowing through the connectors when they are cold.

I used to get the same problem with Hoselock reels due to air in my system. Trouble is once the female part blows off it seems to knacker the edge of the male connector making it prone to burst apart in future.

I think I can elaborate on this.

Number one is pressure, much higher pressure when using hot. Adjust it down. Pump should only be running for about 10 seconds or less till shut off. Make sure you set the pressure in your controller up with all the hose out, because hose pressure reacts differently when coiled up on the hose reel.

The second problem that occurs is that the hose pulls and twists off when you have you reel off the whole length of hose. I've used a cabletie to tie the hose down.
