I wonder what sort of turnover these companies are seeing? Somehow, I dont think there'll be any audited accounts for any of 'em.

I fell for the NHS one about three years ago, a staff handbook being produced for my local hospital, £560.00 for a page, never had a single enquiry!

Never again. >:(

Every year I type this out, so apologies to any of you from the area, but the epicentre of this carry on is the Liverpool-St Helens-Manchester line.
Whenever I get a call with that accent the phone just gets put down.

A fw times lately I have been sat in front of a computer as they call, I google the number and more often than not it will give a telepest/scam watch website ,the company address - usually northwest based and other info which I read back to them

Were calling on ''behalf of'' doctors, police, estate agents etc...usually withheld no.

The other one...we are experts at putting you in first place on Google.

In my ten years, not one call has led to anything.

Once when I said I wasn't interested, I was told to F off. Last week I told some idiot to F off as he tried to humiliate me on the phone.

This week I got some chinese idiot....I asked him why he didn't get a proper job like me rather than scam people....he switched the phone off ;D

Beats me how some people will lower themselves so much and they probably don't earn much money.

The peops who run these scams are nothing more than parasites

When I get cold called, they get as far as "Can I speak to the person in charge of...." before I hang up.

Time wasters, all of em, I don't give them one second more of my time than I have to.  They are costing me for the call divert as well, otherwise I'd put them "on hold" ;) ;)

Who was it on here who mentioned about when he gets these calls he breaks into "I like apples, do you like apples" and just keeps that going  ;D
I've tried that a couple of times just for a laugh and the startled tone on the other end is well worse the fun.

The nHS one might not be a scam, I get emails daily from an NHS service with various offers, most of them from big companies. I think there is a company that sends out offers to all NHS staff (100,000s of employees)

The nHS one might not be a scam, I get emails daily from an NHS service with various offers, most of them from big companies. I think there is a company that sends out offers to all NHS staff (100,000s of employees)

They are normally organised on behalf of individual trusts rather than the whole of the NHS, I took one out where each member of staff received staff handbook with advert in and a gold discount card.

Wife worked for the trust and never received card or handbook company blamed personnel I explained I paid them not personnel  got nowhere, contacted a few companies in handbook who had no response whatsoever
