Title: the law says 15ft most windows are 10ft up!!!!

what about  this 9 meter law or this 15foot law what is the law on the height thing cos most second story windows when i went to school were about 10 or 11 foot?

When I went to school 9 metres was nearer 30ft than 15....... ::) ;D

i know me measurements guys but i want to know the law if there is one on the height  level.

Because anything from ground is classed NOW as working at height.

SORRY  everybody i just found the regs on working at height it says "that any ladder over 2 meters is to be tied top and bottom of secured in a firm manor. sothat means all ladersthen!!!!

I only work at one Firm Manor!

I do a couple of farm houses..Is it OK to tie me ladders on them?

Window cleaning in the next month will have a new set of regulations set out by the NFMWGC your know where you stand then ;)

er.....

Take it as read that 9 metres (29 foot) is the maximum height with a ladder.

Over 4m (13 foot) you must use some type of extra safety/stabilisation device.

Don't know about tying up the ladder though. You have to go up it to tie it which sort of defeats the object somewhat.

nfwc making regs;thats it then lads back to ladders in the morning,how can they have an imput,when they carnt say a decent thing about wfp,or are they desk bound they ort to get out more.wfp will be banned so they can keep their membership up.
sorry to bash nfwc but Iremember newsnight that son was written for them send in the clowns.
