Hi there,
Has anyone got any advice about how to remove a light cover in a communal area?? The light itself is a Two pin 2D Light bulb and it is in cased in a square plastic cover and this is fastened by what appears to be two triangular headed bolts (Thats the best way i can describe them!!) and so it looks like these bolts have to be removed by some sort of key?? or plyers?? I just wanted to know if anyone has come across this problem and what tools they use to remove the plastic casing so that the lightbulb can be changed and then the plastic cover can be replaced afterwards
Many thanks.

Have a look if you can and see who manufactures the light then ask at your local electrical wholesalers

Hi,
A plastic type of gas meter cupboard key should open it (yellow in colour with a recessed triangular head ).
Try a independant plumbers merchant, if not seek advice from a wholesale electrical supplier. they should know what you mean.
Take a look at www.mitrascomposites.co.uk they sell them online!
good luck

hi there,
these could be proprietery security fixings to stop unauthorised access to the bulb and fitting, find the manufaturer, and youve found your answer.

Thanks so much to everyone for all their help!! You really are all one in a million.
Im actually going back there tommorow to do a communal clean and so I will take your advice and check to see who manufactures the light itself and then contact them directly.
I will also bring along a yellow gas cupboard key as suggested as i think i have one lying around the house somewhere and it could just do the trick.
Thanks again to everyone.
Wishing you all a wonderful stress free working week!
