Title: Need advice on paint removal from glass
Post by: williamgdent on October 21, 2011, 05:36:22 am
I've been asked to clean some windows on the second an third floor or some buildings.
The painters sanded the paintwork and it settled on the glass.
It rained and now it wont wash off its just like hard water marks.
I normally use wfp and would like to clean these this way.
Is there anything i can wash this off with.
Someone said wd40 might work.

Any thoughts.

Bill

Hi bill, I don't clean windows but my advice would be to get the ladders out and scrape the paint off. Then you will be able to do future cleans with your WFP.

Hi Bill

we don't clean windows either but we have this problem all the time on builders cleans, get the ladders out mate, brand new blade in scraper, as you will know never scrape dry glass, the method we use which seems to be the quickest is spray a window cleaning solution onto the glass, then in a bucket we have hot water, washing up liquid and a bit of neat de-greaser, the washing up liquid makes the surface greasy and removes the paint easier.
