Hey guys,
Been asked to remove Tarmac overspray off white cladding from the side of a warehouse. Was thinking of using a hot wash but am thinking that the heat will cause damage to the cladding before it remove the Tarmac. Any ideas?

Chances are that its bitumen which they use before they tarmac the surface thats sprayed on the cladding, as an ex-tarmacer I know that diesel/petrol will remove it but I would try white spirit first applied with a brush and then wash off the remaining mess with your hot water with a degreaser (waits to be shot down in flames) ;D

Yep, diesel on a rag with an old piece of carpet to catch the drips.

Just got back from a store refurb in Heyford Hill - Oxford.
Some kind soul has emptied an egg and filled it with black gloss paint and thrown it 6 metres up some brand new white cladding, from the road.
Pressure washer got most off and then some solvent cleaner tidied up the area. No mark visible now!!!!

Thats what happened during the miners strike to the scabs - nice to throw and a pain to remove ;D

I caame out of the army into the miners strike. It started at Collingwood priory, three miles from where I grew up. That was a tough old time and I felt sorry for the the guys on the picket line, getting soup hand outs whilst Arthur got his pay packet every week!!!!
I don't honestly know what I would have done if I had had a family. would hope that I would have stood side by side but I would have also wanted to feed my family. I am sure they were difficult decisions by those that went back to work. There are still families that wont speak to other families because of what went on in the strike.
They were never going to beat Maggie and I'll bet Scargill was in her back pocket!!!

he diden't get paid while the strike was on but got the whole lot back dated to him when the strike finnished

My apprentiship was extended by 15 months because of the strike - we still went to college and never got paid. There were no cars in the car parks without tax and we paid regular visits to the local trout lake out of hours, anything to make a few quid - some things never change :D

We used to go 'riddling' on the pit slag heaps for the coal. A mesh sieve and a couple of hessian sacks got you a couple of bags in no time.
Oh the good times of my youth!! ;D

spent many an hour up to our knees in mud down at the old disused canel digging for coal that dropped off barges from years gone by,
happy days ;D
