Hi Guys
I don’t visit this section much (if ever) so apologies if this has been covered before.
I am looking to buy a small carpet cleaner to take care of my own home, nothing more than that, apart from use on my van and car upholstery it will only be used to clean my house carpets from time to time.
Has anyone any experience with the cheaper 3 in 1 machines such as the George or VAX and are they any good and if so which is the best.

Hi Neil
Dont buy one, Get the pro's in as the clean is just not the same. You will be happy for a couple of days and then the carpets will resoil again very quickly if you by one from the shops.
Cheers

HI NEIL
i agree with neil,
if you have cheap carpets , that you can afford to replace, by allmeans go for a budget machine but remember if you have no experience in carpet cleaning ,the chances are you will either use the wrong detergent or flood your carpets which will result in them not drying properlly and then you have the problem of them starting to smell, would you try to repair someones car engine if you were a painter ( do youself a favour) the money you were going to spend on this machine, call in your local carpet cleaner and get them done by a pro

Neil,
small machines are very limited, i would stay away and use the pros

IMO these small mcs are OK for a spotter, fine for a quick cleanup of a spilt drink but youll bust a gut on a larger carpet and make half a job.
I know a good carpet cleaner----------

Thanks guys
You have confirmed what I thought.
I am going to look into ether getting in a pro for the job or maybe even invest a few quid and get a high quality machine and do it myself (after all you guys make it sound easy) ;)
Thanks
Neil
