I know exactly how you feel chief, I had a fall last december and did my ankle ligaments in and I'm still having problems with it.
some days its swells up like a balloon although I can still walk on it, some mornings when I get up it gives me gip and I'm walking with a limp for an hour or so.
lets hope your walking on it safely again soon.

get and have physio on it staight away, even if you got to pay private for it.
doing ligaments is sometimes worst that snapping your leg.

use dto goto the ex scotland and celtic physio for a while. Also had NHS physio. Once damage is done it's all about basically building it back up physically and mentally.
other year i finished physio and 2 days later leg went again

You should see a registered and experienced osteopath or chiropracter.
If you don't one of two things will happen. Either the actual problem gets worse and worse, or the body compensates and other muscles groups, joints or ligaments in the body get over strained. Over time whether one week, one month, one year or ten or twenty, etc, the end result is always the same, partial incapacity or constant pain neither of which will go away.
Untreated it will not get better and pain killers from the doctors only store up bigger problems for the future as well as being seriously bad for your kidneys and stomach.
Physio from a local hospital is ok except you usually have to waits months for it and it's a short term solution anyway.

will be making an appointment to see my GP and ge tphysio again and also beasking to be referred to specialist doctr to check it out and take it from there. It is something which will gradully keep wearing down through my life that i know.

badly sprained my left ankle back in april this year playing football with my brother.i was off for nearly 4 weeks.2 of them on crutches.im still getting a few niggles and stiffness in it even now.
my advice would be to wear boots when your working.less chance of going over on your ankle then.
take it easy and hope your back out working soon mate.
regards
