You have n immersion heater in your tank dont you?
Where did you get the mechanical flange from and how long do you have it on for at night?
Also, may sound a silly question, but is length the physical length, or the length of the element coil. Don't k ow if that makes sence or not ::)

Im thinking obviously an immersion is the way forward, so many thanks and hopefully i can sort it out soon!
