Title: marble floor
Post by: Paul Moss on October 17, 2011, 09:32:17 pm
Did a marble floor today using the twister pad system. I was not too impressed with the finish as I could not get the glass look.
What are the rest of you using to polish marble floors ?

Metal & resin bonded diamonds finishing with polishing powder.

Twisters etc are ok for maintenance work but pants for restoration.

Paul have you ever used vitrification/crystallisation on marble?  I've done a little bit, not even sure whether it worked to be honest but the customer was happy!

Oh by the way, Jamie I can't find an email for you, drop me an email when you get a minute mate ;)

This will make an improvement. For the full on crystal clear finish it needs to be in very good condition first or requires re-surfacing.

You need hard resin pads (if no lips) to level out the floor first.

I have managed to source a rather nice system that uses 2 grades of resins then 2 grades of twister style pads.
Gives almost the finish you are looking for. A little touch of polishing powder and PING!
