Title: Graffiti tag problem
Post by: mike roberts on October 16, 2011, 10:09:58 am
Has anyone come across this before??

During the course of the day we removed aprox 17 tags ranging from spray cans , nail varnish and gloss paint.. on various materials.

Have a prob with 3 tags (same tag different locs) on sandstone..... looks like home made jumbo texter marker - nightmare  :'(
penetrated so deep. Tried list of chems / approach results really limited.
Any thoughts experience ???

Soda doesn't damage the surface. Never had a problem with soda. Was in your position though before using soda. Did a Wickes store and couldn't remove spray from the type of stone there was.

Just use soda instead of sand for delicate surfaces.

Bought mine from Centurywise is Stockport as I needed it on the day for a job. Came with lance etc for about £140 but you can just buy the nozzles from Exchange Engineering.

Sand is more abrasive so it will damage the surface if no care taken. Especially with stone, more prone to deface the fine finish. Soda doesn't damage, you could use it on glass although a faster method would be to use a gel and tissue.

I dealt with this on a sandstone before . You will need an product Called AKS 7 or AGS 7 , you should get it from triongraffiti.co.uk

It does the job really good, even when its like +5 outside.
