;D If you have a vikin head you will have to 0.56mm holes for the water to come out you need to change these for slit inserts so as to give you a much wider spray of water and more fowerful aswell and you save water aswell. you can get these from R D Castings Mildenhall industrial estate suffolk.

Morning BVC,
Do you have a web adress or telephone number for this company.

I haven't used the needle type jets, but on some windows with small panes, you do get a better coverage across a wide area of glass.
And the spray from the jets is contained within the brush.
I've popped a couple of pics on here to try and show how the jets can be fitted, and how the water stays contained.
Also the spread of water too, but that pic isn't a very good one...it was raining and my arms weren't long enough to get far enough away from the brush!!
Second pic put on the next post!
sigh, they were only took with my phone, but files to big, so they will be in 3 separate posts

Can't attach anything, will have to do it the other way....

Er...oops, kinda big aren't they :-\
The first one shows how the brush has been adapted, with the bristles removed to allow the spread of the fan jet when in use.
This also contains the water within the brush when in use.
The second photo, though not that good, shows how the full width of the brush is covered by the spray, and if you draw back, the spread is even greater, it's also very easy to control what gets sprayed too.
The third pic is with the water flowing, but contained.
Also it means that you can rinse by holding the brush lightly against the glass rather than pulling away and having to waggle the brush head around to wet all of the glass.
The bristles on the brush will also help draw down particles too.
And no, so far I have had no troble with the brush becoming contaminated :-\
Hope you find the pics useful.....even if you do have to stand on the far side of your room to view them :-[
Not bad for a mobile phone though eh ;)

Ian

Hi Ian,
Is that your new van in the pics, Vaux vito?

Yep, tis the new van ;D
A Nissan Primastar, with air con and reverse sensors 8)
Going to post some pics when I get the various bits for it, I'm using the fibreglass water proofing for the floor, having a 650l tank (plus cage)
Will be ply lining where I can, not going to leave it as plain, dull ply either, will paint it to match interior too.
Will be getting it all sign written too, so am going to do the usual before, during and after stuff....just for sonething to do you understand :P

Thanks ian,
Ive just rubbed down my van floor. a freinds going to spray proteckote on for me this week, I'm going to ply line the sides tommorw.
Still to decide who is going to supply me with van tank. Skypole or Tucker or Pure 2o,Going di route for van with a 650 or 700 ltr tank.
I can get hold of a Ibc 1000ltr tank for £30. So am going r/o in my garage, probably buy a 200 or 300 gall a day ro unit. I have tds reading of 115 on avrge.
Are you fitting the tank yourself in the van?
Cheers Nel.

Ian,was it easy enough to remove the bristles,i use a similar brush and need to remove some and wondering if it makes any difference, thanks,Gaz
-
Nel,
My 650l tank and cage is being supplied by Peter Fogwill and I'll be fitting it myself.
Peter will also be supplying the fibreglass kit for the van floor, messy but easy enough to do yourself.
Apparently it was the norm to use these kits prior to speedliner. Very hard wearing too.
Gaz,
The brush yet again was one from Peter Fogwill, and came just as you see it. Over 18 months now and no problems.
But an easy enough job to use a pliars and pull out the bristles from the holes they are plugged into.

Ian

i had the check the 3rd pic

how can you contaminate a brush with no bristles?
IAN: were did you get the jets from?
DOES THIS MEAN YOU ARE CLEANING WINDOWS in the rinse mode
or using the same amount of water to brush the windows as to rinse?
this way might solve a problem Ive got with the Tucker Pole system
,at the mo Ive an over head rinse facility fitted as standard
to the pole this works very well but have to turn it on by hand.
now with a varistream fitted could do away with this system and use
them jets to rinse down with.
Your help with this will be a great help.

Gaza,
These jets I believe can be bought from cleantech, also Peter at Broxburn cleaning will have them.
The internal bristles are the only ones removed of course, and it doesn't affect the cleaning one iota.
I've not fitted jets myself, though care has to be taken I would imagine on the angle you fit them, get that wrong and you will ruin a brush head!
I don't hold the brush of the glass to rinse, I personally find it better to leave it on the glass, the washing and rinsing is a continual process anyway.
On repeat cleans I am washing and overlapping very methodically, so that I know I am rinsing as I am washing.
On first time cleans you always have to take more care, from what I have seen, and I am not necessarily correct in I disagreeumption, the needle type jets appear to be better for the holding of the glass to rinise, by virtue of the fact that at any one point there is always far more water hitting the glass than with the fan jet.
The fan jet may well have just as much water, but it is spread over anthing up to a couple of feet in width, depending how far off the glass you hold the brush, ergo I think it possible that the 'rinse effect' is not as good as with the needle jets.
so you are better leaving the bristles in contact with the glass so that the bristles aid you with rinsing. And I have yet to have a problem with contamination.
I want to try the Ionics brush, their domestic one, but I'll have to make a fitting for it to be able to fit to the Unger poles I use.
I don't like the idea of the spray coming over the top of the brush, though proponents of this mode would argue that you are continually rinsing behind the brush, i.e, contaminants are being continually flushed as you work, so a contaminated brush wouldn't be a problem..they might have a point?
As I have mentioned elsewhere, Peter Fogwill has (or is still doing so) developed an automatic brush head, one tap on the window frame turns on the flow, a second cuts it off, sounds very good to me, I'll be really interested to see how it works in practice ;)
Time to go shower!

I have the same brush as you - and a Vikan with the needle jets .
I find I have to turn the pump down when going from the fan jet to the needle vikan brush , as it comes out with such force , the fan jet brush on the same setting that I use for the needle jet - just drips out .
I use more water using the fan jet Blue brush . :o

Iv`e just found this company on the net,if you are looking for fan jets then heres plenty
