Been caught out with my resin and its reading 008, am wondering wether to go ahead and and do a days work with it ? will it be ok ?

yep - you'll be fine

I'm happy to use water upto 015 - never been an issue with spotting

i change by 15.  keep an eye on it, certain windows will start to spot in the sun, but so long as you rinse well its fine up to 15 anyway mate.
