if you are not working then you have nothing to lose surely by going out there doorknocking/leafletingand try to build up a round in the area of your choice. It`s free, gets you out in the fresh air, raises your self esteem by actually getting up and tring to do something for yourself and hopefully you can start working very soon...do a good job and the work will multiply.
