Hi chaps. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I have a 3month old pure freedom trolley and over the last week the controller has started saying 'de' and not working. Now sometimes this lasts half an hour, sometimes it refuses to work all day. Ive checked all the hoses for holes etc, i've replaced the rectus 21 female and male connectors. Ive opened up the pump in case anything was blocking it. It still isnt working. The furstrating thing is, it does tend to work for the first half an hour or so every morning.
Now pure freedom have been helpful over the phone, but at the same time im still fuming cos this is costing me a lot of money and its a 5 hour round trip to get to their offices.
Does amnyone know how i can resolve this?
p.s i have messed with the cal level , having it on 20 up to 65 on every number

check the connectors incase one is coming loose or breaking, as if the circuit is broken it wont work
-
Ive got a window cleaning warehouse controller that stopped working, the circuit board had burnt out only a few month's old not impressed they must be cheaply made but the price isnt cheap !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ???

Have you checked the water stop end on the trolley mine started sticking and would shut the water flow off check that or change if you have a spare , mine busted after about 3 months and i checked everything like you then changed the stop end and everything was solved
THE de read out means the pump has shut down correctly the de read out is normal but as soon as you turn the water on with your inline tap after a few seconds everything should run as normal . MIKE

Mine has always had a DE reading, it only happens when you switch the pole tap off, in the instructions it says you should turn the flow up if DE appears. My flow is on 37-40 most of the day with no probs other than the DE reading, doesnt really bother me as long as it works. :)

Hi ive checked the water stop on the trolley end. The only thing i can think of is maybe other parts of the hose i.e in and out of the pump etc are loose. Or maybe the controller is messing up i dont know.
Im taking it to a local windowcleaning shop to see if they can help tomorrow. otherwise it'll be 4 days of no waterfed pole. oh and also, pure freedom failed to call me back again.
anyway, thanks for your advice

The DE symbol should show in normal use if the controller senses that a valve or an end-stop has shut off the flow of water. It switches the pump off and displays the DE symbol to tell you what it has done. So far all is good - the problem you seem to be describing is when you turn the flow of water back on (connect your pole in or turn the valve back on) and it is not resuming its flow.
In normal function the only reason that this may happen is if the Calibration setting for the Dead-End (Shut-off) sensing is set too low (too sensitive) for your system. To increase the calibration setting - Press and hold both the 'up arrow' and the 'enter arrow' until CAL appears, this will then be followed by a value which is your current dead-end calibration setting. Press the up arrow to increase this by say +20 and then press the enter arrow. This should set the new value selected as your setting. The display will then go back to showing the flow rate, for testing purposes I would recommend setting the flow rate to the maximum 99.
Once you have done the above then plug in your pole and turn on the valve and see if this makes any difference - it should if the unit is working correctly. If not then try increasing the calibration setting by using the steps above by another +10 at a time to see if it changes anything.

if you are running containers dry and drawing air into the system it will take a while for the air to draw through depending on the length of hose you are using . MIKE

Go and try this, behind your flo controller you will find the small wiring for the controller these wires have small plugs and often come loose and cause the controllers to read "DE" this is a common problem with the PF controllers all you will need to do is make sure all the plugs at the back of the controller are pushed in properly, I expect they have worked loose whilst you've been driving your van around.
I hope this works

thanks chaps. your advice is much appreciated. i'll give it all a go tomorrow

It is likely to be the Auto calibration that is out, When you change fittings on the system it will have an impact on the calibration and DE detection.
As a general rule set the calibration with your longest pole.
Let me know how you get on
-
But the problem was around before i changed the fittings, and after. Come to think of it though, I know that I have never actually been able to access the auto cal function, always had to mess around with it manually. Anyway, been doing more playing with it today and its still not worked at all, so its now at a local cleaning company who are gonna look at it, as dont fancy the 6 hour round trip to grimsby

Read the original post again and picked up it was happening before you changed the connectors, Sorry I was absolutely whacked yesterday having got back from Netherlands in the early AM.
Andrew at PF will go through the Auto Cal with you and pick up on issues let me know how it goes.

Hiya, after the chaps took it apart for me today, they say theres no air locks or anything stopping the flow in the normal sense. They say its an error with the actual controller. Posting it to pure freedom tomorrow. Looking forward to being able to earn some money soon

No Problem Andrew will return the control to us so we can look at it. Once we see the control we will be able to diagnose the issue.
