Title: chewing gum

hi guys been asked to clean pub carpet problem i have is chewing gum which is ground in on one particular spot for probably years dont want to scrape it in case the carpet comes with it anyone suggest what product to use to loosen it rest of carpet okay just this one spot all replies greatly appreciated thanks john

wallpaper stripper without the pad on but use the open end of the steam tube held over and in contact with the gum for 10/15 seconds, the gum will soften, scrape off onto tissue and clean residue with solutions eco spotter or similar, then clean the carpet as usual.  best of luck, worst job in the world!!

Any steamer is a good idea for chew gum, ever been to wales more gum than carpet there !!!!!!!!!!
