Title: Van insurance, hot systems. Directline useless.
Post by: [GQC] Tim on October 11, 2011, 10:06:14 am
Checked with Directline, which I am with at the moment, and they can't cover for waterfed pole systems or hot systems, because the system doesn't have it as a listed modification, so by default their underwriter(s) don't insure if you have a wfp system fitted. They used to have a mobile cleaning modification in their system, but no longer.

Funny enough the first time I checked with them they never even heard of it, and couldn't quote me, so I just didn't bother again. Thought I should really get this checked out again because of going hot.

So who are you with for your insurance? I've always found Directline to be the cheapest for me personally, but seems I have to change to be able to stay insurance. Great.  :-\

My hot systems are insured with A Plan, used them now for the last 10 years for van insurance, never had a better quote!

I've got one in the high street, might pop in and see what they can do for me. Half an hour searching on the forum came up with these :

A-plan
Keith Michaels
GT Insurance
Towergate insurance
Alexander Swan
Commercial Vehicle Direct
Autonet insurance
Motor Direct
Adrian Flux

I think it all depends on your personal details ect, but for me A Plan have always ben the cheapest. Tried Alexander Swan, CVD, Adrian Flux on my last renewal, around 2 months ago.
