just interested to hear what other services folk offer along side the regular WCing...
apart from WCing i clean gutters/fasia/soffits, powerwashing, carpets, and due to being asked so many times i am considering chimney cleaning service, do any off you do it? or recommend good place to go for training if ya really need some
in fairness nowadays dont really get alot of carpet or powerwashing jobs so would be nice to have something else to fill the gap.
cheers

I used to do a bit of chimney sweeping but knocked on the head.....just after my 8th birthday.
Sorry, I can't be more help, guv. I'm just 'avin a laarf wiv ya ;D.

Years ago we used to do garden maintenance, light building work, chimneysweeps etc. But in the end it got in the way of the best paying part of the business w/c, so all we do now is that, and some pressure washing at the weekend.
To easy to be considered a jack of all trades and master of none

prefer to do just window cleaning, its easier and better paid than most jobs,
-
Window cleaning and home alone wife servicing. ;D

lonely housewife massage. great to have some inside work on rainy days !

I agree with this. Why have space in your schedule that you hope you will fill with casual jobs - much better to have regular window cleaning jobs that you can rely on. We do things like insides, soffit & fascias if a regular customer requests it, but only to keep them sweet.

i do wooden blind cleaning but have held off doing plastic venetian.
-
I also do wc . carpet cleaning . gutter and fasica cleaning. conny cleaning and power washing and that keeps me more than busy at the moment im fully booked up to mid november and have a waiting list of people wanting gutter cleans and carpets cleaning
-
i am kept busy mon to thurs with WCing and what i do is keep any other jobs for a friday be it a carpet clean, a conny clean or a driveway, its good for motivation for me as not only do ya get that friday feeling but ya get some instant cash at the end of the day and that pays for whatever bills i have and fills the diesel tank for the following week...
My customers know what other services i offer but powerwashing and carpet cleaning has been very quiet as of late, i even done a mass leaflet drop with very little response and now with the time of year we are at now it will be even quieter for them services...
this being the reason looking at a service maybe used year round and when maybe get a gutter job could upsell and include a chimney clean too??? I could just hammer into canvassing for more WCing but ive more than enough custies on the books right now and anymore would warrant another van and employing again which im to keen on doing just yet.

Totally agree, don't get sidetracked

We also do conservatory roof cleaning good money in that and fairly easy once you get the hang of it. gutter clearing and cleaning, soffit, fascias, sign cleaning
-
no need to buy other equipment like carpet cleaners and power washers when your wfp that your using to clean the windows can also clean the fascias/soffits/outside gutters and conny roofs! ;D ;D ;D
just my opinion of course but if you have a good solid maintenance window cleaning round and offer these services on your van/business cards/leaflets youll get a steady trickle of them all year round for extra income on top of the window cleaning.
you ll also build up very powerful arms and shoulders even using the gardiners range of poles!! ;D ;D ;D

We clean a lot of carpets and sod's law says it will always be on a sunny day when I should be out cleaning windows ;D
We also carry out day to day contract cleaning; which often leads to more window and carpet cleaning.
