Did a survey today, 3 piece and a few carpets. The 3 piece is a flat woven material (55% modacrylic and 45% rayon, as per label), there are strips of colour in various places, unfortunatley i couldnt test fabrics as my kit was left at home :'(. I still quoted, but priced it to cover a possble dry clean.
Anyone know if this material combination is cleanable?
Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben,
I've wet cleaned lots of these.
Bear in mind Rayon is a cellulose based fibre so will weaken when wet but acrylic is strong when wet.
Subject to colour testing and inspecting for any damage you should get good results wet cleaning.
You could of course dry clean but it would not look much different.
Cheers

I cleaned this sofa today, cleaned up ok, some marks would not shift but customer was pleased.(she has already booked £100 of stainguard for next week.) In some areas though you could just make out a line of brown stitching within the cream/white area, when wet this line grew and extended another 6 inches or so. i checked the rest of the sofa and found quite a few so explained to customer that they may be more obvious if i wet them, she didn't care anyway so i continued with clean and tried to avoid these lines as much as possible.
My question is , has anyone experienced this and if so any ideas why it happens.
thanks, ben
