Title: securing a fogwash

How is yours secured to you van

I have a transit, but no real fixing points. Have you built a studwork or ply to fix to?

Also, how have you secured your gas bottle. I've got a 13kg bottle

I saw steve aingers on a thread the other day which looked really impressive, but my tank and fogwash need to be towards the back of the van as there's a pre drilled vent already there.

i've surrounded my tank in ali tread plate. and secured it to that along with my pump and controller . gas bottle slots into a frame made from steel sections . only thing haven't done is a flu in the roof as i work with back doors open

I had the same problem, i had to fix mine blind at the top, I used these :

Self Drilling Screws with Washers :

For holding the gas bottle I'm using this :

Bought a safefill lpg tank, so should come in soon. Should be allright with this bracket. :)

Here's a pic of mine. Secured to plywood, but its all treated with fireproof paint (and the back of the heater barely gets warm anyway)

Thanks lads

Ive managed to utilise and existing fixing point at the bottom and bolt it. At the top Ive secured using  reinforced cable ties and tied them through the struts in the structure of the van panels

Ive also insulated using a product call superquilt, made by YBS and is the equivalent to having 740mm of Rockwool loft insulation. Ive insulated the whole van with this-cost around £150 inc vat. I know it looks a bit "pet shop boys", but already noticed the difference

Well chuffed its now fixed. Just left to buy the gas tank and connect decent hose from the heater

Can I just ask if you ordered a flue aswell from Peter? I'm sure I'm missing a part on the actual metal vent, like a plate or something?

With the flue I got the actual flue, a cowl(about 100mm long silver section), a metal strap and a couple of screw fixings in a pack

Yea that's what I got as well. Do you have any pictures of how you fitted the cowl into the roof?
