a month a go i got a 06 citroen dispatch with 3 month waranty  its only done 85,000 miles, since then ive had nowt but trouble first week cluch packed ,in the cluch slave cylinder was weeping it was fixed no problem, the next week doing maitainance found rocker cover gasket had a bad leek and the power stearing hose was weeping so of it went to get sorted on the way the exhaust droped of all was fixed with out a fuss  its also developed a intermitant misfire which was going for examination on monday , happy days  ;) ;) but there is a cruel twist iwas puting the van up the drive when the cluch packed in so cant get any gears >:( realy pi**ed off . gonna ring up to day to see how we can resole this nightmare .am i entiteld to a full refund  ??? ??? i plan to ring trading standards for any legal advise.ive fitted my wfp which ive bolted to the chassiss i think they will put up a fuss any addvise

I had to ring trading standards bout similar problem. From what I can remember if you've bought off a private seller you've got no rights at all. If you've bought off a dealer there's a chance but they said that if due to the age of the vehicle you could expect such problems then you might not be entitled to a full refund if that makes sense.
I'd play my face and hopefully they will sort it if it is a dealer.

you ve bought a "lemon" mate.i bet your gutted esp as the van isnt that old.most of my vehicles over the years have been 10 years old and older and  ive not had the problems you ve had!!

saying that the kangoo ive got at present has had a new clutch,rear back axle,exhaust,cambelt,brakes all in the first year of buying it.it is 11 years old though with 134000 miles on the clock.

how much did you pay for the van dave?

sounds like they didnt fix the clutch properly in the first place dave.with the added weight we carry can put enormous pressure on the clutch esp reversing up a steep drive.

snap bought an astra 56 plate the biz had an mot
passed but needs a clutch starter and sump
1200 notes iz nice
having said that once bought a brand new pugnot never out of garage  after 2 years >:(

Hi Dave ... before I became a window cleaner last year I ran a Toyota sales dept for 20 years so post ur number and I will advise you but a lot depends on how much it was and miles etc but can tell you 2 things now trading standards are a little limp wristed these days and very difficult to make a dealer give a refund all he has to do is fix it until warranty runs out and even then if not a warrantable item he dont need to fix it .... from what you said about exhaust getting fixed he already done more than he has to ... harsh reality maybe but thats how it works

if you cant select gears it is usually a gear linkage problem on them, as i had this problem,

did you manage to drive home after the clutch was done then it woudlnt select gears

the van cost 4500 the van was out side my house it was almort empty ive got a small step into drive

the latest in the van saga that all of the faults done bar one which is the intermitant misfire it is going in monday to specailist figers crossed all will be ok good job its under waranty .they offerd me a rep :(lacement van but it was grand and ahalf more but it is a connect 1.8 turbo ive done abit of resurch dint like what i read plus my son has one from new and has had nowt but trouble with it

When i bought my Astravan it had just 13000 miles or so on the clock. I went for a petrol van as they are easier and cheaper to maintain over diesels.

I have been doing all my own servicing.

Its has all the brakes renewed, twice. Including the drums, disks and hyraulic lines

it had new suspension

its had new head gasket, water pump, valve seals, cam belt, and big end shells.

two new exausts

8 sets of tyres

i have now owned it for 8 years, it has 97k miles and is still going strong.

sounds like youve rebuilt it!
