Title: 2" bore wand
Post by: Shaun_Ashmore on October 30, 2005, 04:42:35 pm
I recently got a 2" bore wand from that nice fellow Nick at Solutions UK, a few TM cleaners had advised me to get one Glynn and Dave also Clive.

When it first arrived I had trouble pushing it as the maximised airflow really made it grab the carpet so I bought a glide from US ebay a seller Steve Gunn recommended anyway using this wand and the glide vastly improves my drying times if you have a high powered porti or a TM I strongly advise you to get one now!

Interesting Shaun.  I tried Nicks 14in wide 2in bore wand and like you couldnt move it but the glides sound good.  Whos your source?

Have you tried the tintainum wand?

thanks
Mark

What’s the make of wand as I found some are not to my stile of working ergonomically that is! Also had a problem with jet’s clogging? Then you get what you pay for! :-X  What am I to buy wand or glide also what wands dose Glynn, Dave and Clive use make that is!

Did try a titanium one at Wolverhampton very nice and very light need to raid the piggy bank with out the wife knowing!

Not at customers long enough to note time drying times but always give an approximate time! ;D

that would be my Ti wand at wolverhampton. I strongly recommend you get one,  word of warning though, you wont be able to move it without a greenglide.

I couldn't agree more with the support for a 2 inch wand. I have settled on a 2 inch bore Prochem titianium wand which I use with the TM and the Scorpion. I currently use it without a glide  8) but I have ordered the hybrid greenglide from HM in the hope that it is as good as Glynn says it is ;D

The 2 reasons I didn't get a ti wand are it drips alot even when not keyed and also expense but if you can get hold of a prochem quad jet you are nearly there 1  3/4 inch bore but I wanted a vast difference and I went for 2 inch and I am growing to love it!

PS John Bolton has got one of Nick's if you want some of the finer details and I think I paid £330 inclusive which is a bargain compared to a Ti at around a grand but a Ti I believe is better.

You will need approximately 8 foot of 2 inch hose plus a plastic reduction adapter to your hose.

Gary,

I don't think it is worth using a 2 inch wand with 1.5 inch vac hose. You have already restricted the air flow through the hose. A 2 inch wand will perform best with 2 inch hose.

Hi
The Scorpion 3 supercharged will run 2" hose as mentioned by Nigel.

I would not suggest putting 2" on the Eclipse as it is vac optimised.

Best regards Nick
