This might seem like a strange thread to start after the hottest spell on record for October, but believe me folks the wind is coming. Remnants of that US hurricane are on their way as I type and as the Autumn sets in there'll be more to come.
How do you gauge the amount of wind you can cope with whilst safely using the gutter vac? Have you cancelled jobs because of high winds?
My own experience is that I can control the pole well at 15 ft in relatively strong winds but above 15ft it becomes a real danger. Also even 15ft in high wind is dangerous and I can see myself putting jobs back if it get really bad. Gusting wind is the worst - unpredictable and hazardous.
Any thoughts?

Id do them early morning before the wind gets up.

Thanks Bumper. Not quite what I had in mind but at least it's a reply :)
Anyone else, or are we all so new to gutter cleaning that no one has yet experienced windy conditions?

Only if i've had a curry the night before is it a problem ;D
Seriously though once its up and in the gutter it isn't a problem!!!

Earlier this year i come across gutters behind a lean to, chock full of poop-the old fellah there had got in the habit of tippin a full commode out the bedroom window and all contents rattling down into the gutter below.
love to seen you hoovering that out Scoopey !

Sounds more like a wheelie bin cleaning job that one. Dirty old get ;D
Still think there's more of a debate to be had on my OP. I know that when the nozzle is in the gutter the pole has extra support, but haven't you ever had the pole 'grabbed' by a strong gust of wind? I certainly have.
Don't know about you but here it's a bit WINDY today .....

This past week or two there`s nearly been as much going on
With gutter cleaning as there has with the `Groupon`threads.
I`ve no experience at all with gutter cleaning. Now I`m out of
Carpet / upholstery cleaning I`m thinking of giving it a go.
Now autumn is here, most of the guttering around my way,
They are `block chock solid`,not just leaves either.
Like my neigbour say`s though`. “ Anything is only a problem,
When it becomes a problem”.
Blocked drains are same. The average person in my opinion
Won`t pay around £2.50 per running yard for their gutters
Clearing out,unless it`s causing them a problem,like overflowing
Rain, damp etc. etc. That’s the price I`d be wanting and possibly
More for `blocked solid jobs`.
If I`m wrong, can someone put me straight regarding gutter cleaning.
Thanks in advance for advice and comments.
