Title: logo design free software

I don't need a logo badly enough that I want to buy one.

But does anyone have links to a half decent soft ware logo design, is serif any good?

thanks lee, I tried serif and it is rubbish, but actually made a nice little logo on word, I just don't know how to change it to jpeg etc any one any idea

Can you cut it out using the snipping tool. (on vista)

I don't have word but I thought it gave jpeg in the "save as" options.
Alternatively, if you have image software that does a screen capture, you can do that and save as a jpeg.
