With the post recently about little giant ladders I thought I would look into getting one. But what are they like on full extension, not to use all the time, but fir using on the odd occasion? I've seen some bids on YouTube demonstrating tgat they are unsafe if you want to step off of it on to a roof, I have to go over some garages, so are the safe on extension?
Ideally I would like to do away with my ladders on the roof and carry one of these in the back of the van.

why not just keep your big ladders?i have 3.5m two section trade ladder and an 8ft pointer.they always come in handy from time to time.the A ladder is handy for hopping over gates or unlocking a bolt and the main ladders for flat roof access and the odd trad job.i can also split them over a high gate for access without having to actually climb on the gate.
need them for some conny roof jobs as well.
me personally wouldnt risk the small ladders.i am 6ft 2in and 18 stone though! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I wouldn't want to trust something that is designed to collapse. Also, how much do you weigh? a lot of these things have safe working limits somewhere in the small print that is probably less than you weigh.

Go watch the Youtube vids on the dangerous little giant ladder. After watching them id NEVER buy one as the feet can kick out easily as you step on /off it >:(

Depending on size of van I built a false floor . ladder and step ladder slide in everything else goes on top also saves agro of clamping ladder to roof bars also saves any one nicking ladder off van
