chirpy guy rings up, asks can i do a 1 off job. he owns a semi council house with a very big conserv, its empty and he has new tenants are moving in very soon.
so i go look ,meet his wife there and give her a price of 80,inside and out ,house windows including the con and con roof . ok,go ahead she says, the house keys will be hidden in the garden shed so you can let yourselves in if my hubby isnt there to see you .
on our way to the job a day later i get a phone call from her hubby,a RED driving school guy, can you switch off the power at the fuse box,ive been fixing the fan in the conserv and i dont want you lads to get a shock as the fans wires are live exposed. ok,will do,and how am i going to get paid ? no worries mate i will drop the money off at your home later on (red flag flies but as his wife was pleasant,on we go)
The jobs a bitch in the heat but 2 hours later it all looks superb.
Evening comes , no sign of the guy, so at 9pm i ring him. Ah yes, ive not been round to pay you as i found some dirt around the fan light fitting, im not happy although everthing else looks good
Well what do you want me to do,can i come round to wipe that off?
How about you knock off a bit of money, say 30 ...
no,no, best i come round and fix the problem, clean around this fan fitting when will you be there>?
i can be there on saturday,at 12 o clock for 10 minutes only .
ok, i will meet you there, you will have cash wont you to pay me.
-------------------------------
my gut feeling is that he wont be there at 12 , what next?
-
Monday morning, he will have to access his car for driving lessons. Be there but be careful how you park your van. You wouldnt want to block him in.
-
Driving instructors peak work times are evenings and weekends.
Get there at 12, send him a text at 11
-
Under no circumstance must you scratch the hell out of his car with a Brillo pad when cleaning it for him.
-
im so mad about it,his attitude on the phone was smug, it said,iv got my clean but now i can not pay if i want to
im seriously thinking that if he doesnt show at 12(i will be there at 1130, ) at 12.30 say
can i legally put all the dirt back on the windows with my scrubber?
-
the guys a dick and thinks he is something, go around dirty all the windows up again with dirty water trad style and tell him to keep his money
-
I think the hinges on the conservatory doors are stiff and need wd40 but be careful how you spray it.
It tends to drift on the breeze. If you're not careful that is.
-
I think you and all your mates need to book a few blocks of driving lessons with him.
;D
-
So long as you are prepared to do the work he says he is dissatisfied with hit him with a county court claim, he'll have to pay for that too. You have to give him reasonable time to pay and a letter of intent, also giving him time to pay after that too. But you'll get your money. But you must be reasonable and prepared to go back and sort the issue out first.
Id block him in once I had my money, issues arent about getting what Im owed its usually about revenge for me. But always try to be professional when you let someones tyres down.

No, because that might possibly be classed as criminal damage - a criminal offence. However, you can re-clean if you are not satisfied with the quality of your original clean - naturally taking great care not to dip your old, ready to throw away brush in wet mud several times during the clean. If the customer is not satisfied with the quality of the re-clean, that would be a civil matter if he wishes to pursue it through the courts.

advrtise a party at his home on facebook ;D
-
lol I love you guys! I would give benefit of doubt to start, but I love the above suggestions. someone once told me, there's more than 1 way to skin a cat! you can make things awkward for him as revenge while going thru courts, but give him chance to come good. it would also help to know where lives...... ;) but could get that of his tenants. revenge is a dish best served cold. :)

Had a guy do the same to me a while ago , simply refused to pay , next day i went round with the 5 litre pressure sprayer full of muddy water , plastered all windows with it connected to a 35 foot hybrid as i did not want to tresspass , he went mental on the phone that night demanding a reclean , papers and court were mentioned , i told him to fill his boots , he then said that i would never work in his street again , to which i replied that he was right as he was my only customer in that street ;D ;D ;D

The End---
i turned up and he had his back to me and then wouldnt meet my gaze. was BRAVE over the phone but meek in person
So i get my pole and mop and in under a minute i had wiped around the fan fitting a dozen times. looked brand new . then he got a bit sarcey saying if i used a stepladder i would get a much better finish. Anyway he paid me cash and we shook hands and said our goodbyes.
As i stepped outside i noticed some slivers of pre-prepared bamboo floating in my bucket. did i or didnt i shove one in his yale lock ?
-
lol. u harsh man. Glad it worked out for ya, theres always one and we can hardly ask for money up front. At least he paid in full. And you know you dont do such a good job around roof fans ;)

I have done that, they break off very nicely when they're in deep, break better when bone dry though.
