Try: http://www.call08.com/

Well cheap. No set up fees, no monthly charge, and they charge by the second. These were the cheapest I could find, and I searched for hours! I use them and have no problem.

Hope it helps.

the above are slightly cheaper!!

I use this firm http://www.bluespot-tech.co.uk/

I only posted it to give you a wider choice of numbers to pick from.

Does freephone work? Or does the customer prefer to see a local number? Which type of customer would prefer to choose a cleaner with a freephone number?

i pay £15 pm to have the ability to change the forwarding number immediately via a website + get call stats etc. it lets me forward to any number then for no further cost to whatever i want ie my mobile(s) - dodgy signal area... but don't pay anything further in termination charges.

Hi Guys,

Despite my wider advertising I still get most of my work within 15 miles so I would say a local number is better,.

Also freephone may attract all the price shoppers.

Yesterday I received an enquiry via my web site for Hinckley in Leicester :o :o

I told her to go to ukcarpetcleaners and find someone a bit more local!

Cheers

Doug

Doug , same problem with my web site I get people phoning me from London which is 75 miles from where I live, the annoying thing is I only advertise the web address on yell.com to get local work.
And you get all these nerds phoning you up to say do you realise your web site is not on any of the search engines, and I tell them that I only what local work, do they listen do they BO****KS

I agree with Doug, I am continuously surprised on how many people comment on how I am local to them and that they don't like ringing freephone or mobiles so local number all the way... you can always get your local number forwarded to your mobile whilst your working.

Doug,

what's the criteria for getting on ukcarpetcleaners.co.uk, just down the road from Hinckley so missed out on that one...

Chris,

The criteria for listing on www.ukcarpetcleaners.com are that you have to be fully insured and  be a professional CC.

I would prefer people with experience but courses would be taken into consideration for the inexperienced.

There is currently no cost but it is envisaged to make a small charge to cover admin/site promotion in the future.

It is also proposed to approach suppliers for discounts etc.

Cheers

Doug
