Hi all, 1 of our many services is gutter & fascia cleaning, i will admit this side of my business has been overlooked.
Im trad style so we have been actually cleanin the gutters & fascia by hand, scooping all the muck out, tfr diluted and dipped on extendable brush for bugalows as its only a small brush and for higher up we have been cleaning bit by bit with a hand brush then wiping down by hand. Its back breaking and time consuming!
I want to get myself sum poles etc and improve this services both for the customer and myself!! what would you suggest?
Coud i run some sort of wfp off my pressure washer maybe?? Any ideas or insight as to how you guys do it is much appreciated :)

Why not get a telescopic lance for your pressure washer?
-
If you dont want to go full WFP - get a cheap ali pole from brodex with a brush ( best is gardiners SL ) and plug it into custy's outside tap and pole away - use tfr as req.

done about 4years of upvc cleaning off ladders by hand,if it back breaking then wait til you try it witha pole,
ajob done by hand of ladders is just as good if not better than done by wfp.

Im not shy of hard work so not bothered about that but its more professional looking and time saving. Would i need a petrol pressure washer for a telespoic pole or would a karcher do the trick?

a wfp is all you need mate.i get a steady trickle of these add on jobs all year round without trying usually from existing customers.all the services are on my business cards/tickets/van.
plug into outside tap if you havent got a tank in the van.you dont even need tfr most of the time!just squirt with water and leave for 5 mins then scrub and rinse!!job done!they are harder work to clean than regular window cleaning so price higher to make it worth your while!! ;) ;D ;D ;D

dazmond i was thinkin of askin a similar question where is best to get pole etc and can you suggest a particular one mine will just be for the odd gutter cleaning and conny roof etc i aim to use customer outside tap its not something im going to push just something to have as i keep getting asked to do exsisting customers guttering but feel wary doin em by hand as i work solo trad normally?

richy a gardiners clx 22ft would be a good pole for fascias/soffit/conny roof cleaning.i use my slx 25ft with a supalite mono brush for add ons but thats because i only take 1 pole with me in my van for all my work.
dont be tempted to get a cheap, heavy fibreglass jobbie even if you only use it once or twice a week you could give yourself a shoulder injury using these poles at awkward angles.
a clx with supalite brush would be ideal.nice and light and fairly rigid!! ;) ;D ;D

clx 22 -superlight brush with fans - convert a 5L garden sprayer to apply virosol - use outside tap

Yes the clx is great for this job mate I use it for fascia/gutters and windows... As the guys are saying above just plug it into the garden tap and that's it!!! also a friend of mine is trad only but still uses the pole for doing window frames then his partner squeegee's off behind him and there windows come out great.

sounds good i think i will get one when i get back from holiday where is the best place to get them from and how much roughly would it cost for pole and other bits ? 8)

Looking at £170 inc vat delivered for pole & brush from http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Water-Fed_Poles.html - get the hoselock tail and fans on the brush.
Sprayer you can get from B&Q for £15-£20
Some hose for the conversion of the garden sprayer from ebay
virosol you can get from www.thecleaningwarehouse.co.uk (mix it 24:1)
