I've got to price for stripping/cleaning and then polishing vinyl tiles on common stairs and landings in a block of apartments.
I would appreciate some recommendations on which products to use to strip/clean and also what polish to use - both matt and gloss.
Obviously I will use a rotary on the landings, but whats the best method on the stairs ?
Thanks in advance.

Alright Steve, hope things are going well. Don't want to put a dampner on this but if the flats are used this would be a nightmare of a job. Done one in chiswick a few years back, had to start at 12/1am and still there were people coming and going and to top that someone was shot and killed in the flats the previous week cause of some drugs deal. No way did it have enough time to seal it properly without foot prints appearing on landings and stairs. As for products would go low cost with this, i used carefree speed stripper and carefree polish.

Staircases can be a nightmare. How do you realistically tell someone they have to wait 10 minutes on a coat of finish drying before they can get into their house.
We always do every other step then when dry do the others.
When stripping if you can find out which polish is on it try and use that manufacturers stripper as it remove faster.
Remember to qualify any run off and possible touch up painting.
