i use the red hose from a washing machine etc, get them from b&q. homebase and so on , just remove the connectors for the washing machine and fit the metal hozelocks, i have never had a problem using this

got hose sorted got some new plastic hose locks but they weep another thing is that if i wack up the temp the hose from the tank to the heater out gets quite hot but the temp out aint as hot is it because the reel is a smaller bore ???

got it sorted got a length of car radiator hose thanks for all replys

I have car radiator hose - it's a bit big for hozelocks so I had to pare it down a bit. Gardiners will supply a hozelock type fitting with a barbed end which would be better.
Be careful with your hose reel - the heat wrecked a brand new reel of mine - the hose I had was too supple and wouldn't stop expanding.

thanks wot did you do as a replacement

surely if you keep temp low then yu could avoid this?

I had minibore - brand new. The place i bought it from has amended their description - not for hot water use.
My three year old microbore copes ok.
