Will be doing some major mass drops in new year circa 40000 to 50000 so too many for me to do myself ;)
Anyone got experiance of dropping these numbers ?
How did you go about it ?
Up to now thinking post office, local free paper or leaflet drop company

if you start keeping an eye out you will spot the local leafletting firms at work. the ones in my area lock their sack barrows to lamp posts in the area theyre working
i use a fit lad who is very good ,he can do about 500 in 5 hours , but only for 2 days running as its gruelling . i doubt many can keep up that pace long term , from what i see most leafletters are walking at about 3-400 in 5 hours speed.
i would be wary if a leafleting firm tells you their guys and gals walk for 6 or 7 hours each and every day

dont do free paper you might as well burn them
royal mail are ok but even they are known to bin some of them! but can cope with large scale and fast
dont use national companies or their franchises especially if they are charging less than £50 per thousand, they will go in a bin.
try to use local people who already drop and dont be in with more than 2 other items, be looking to pay £25-£40 per thousand, expect one person to do between 1-3 thousand per week and MONITOR THEM!!!!!

Ian do you expect to get a lot of phone calls from your planned leaflet drop typically i always do a follow up by knocking 2 days later , Also are you using top quality leaflets , sorry to seem nosey but considering using a top quality leaflets in the hope of gaining more custys , and also eliminate the need to go knocking

find a local guy who like a walk or two and trow him a few quid.
i have a few lads from 13/14years old from my football team deliver the few i wanted, told them as well if i got work then i give them extra, they only delivered a 1000 in one area i wanted
-
i deliver them myself!
can do a thousand in 6 hours no probs!

id sooner go canvssing more afective and cheaper ;D

Each method works to a point it all depends wether the houses you target are in need of a window cleaner or not . Some people will phone after a leaflet or card drop but others would rather speak to someone face to face ,
Thats why i am thinking a really good quality leaflet might very well do the job on new housing developments. MIKE
