Post by: wayne zabel on September 24, 2011, 01:45:59 pm
Whats the chances of getting a 4 day old curry stain out of a beige wool carpet?

If any chance whats the best plan of attack

Thanks

create a sodium perborate paste and apply it to the stain.  leave it for about 10 mins and then either literally teaspoon on just boiled water or add water and use a hair dryer to get the temperature up over 70 degrees C.

there's always the usual off the shelf things but this does work on turmeric.

ps get the customer to sign it off first (unless you have used sodium perborate before and you know what you're doing)

alternatively, you can buy hydrogen peroxide off the shelf.  im not sure if the 20 vols stuff is available for general purchase.  generally the 10vols stuff isnt strong enough.

same as above, spray on leave for 10 mins and then heat up using either really hot water or a hair dryer etc...

careful on patterned wools as ive seem some real messes.  also be prepared for texture changes in wool and the obvious colour / dye lightening.

thanks,
