Title: How do you price?
Post by: Caleb Morley on September 21, 2011, 08:24:54 pm: I generally just price each house on its own merit - ie how much do I think its worth my while doing.....im not quite quick enough yet to work out exactly how long each house will take me - as i know alot price based on the time it will take to clean and what they want to earn per hour.

Also here some price per window - is that per pane or per room?

I tend to find it harder to price bigger houses, anyone else have this problem?

Most price their houses based on what they want to earn per hour (and then stick a little on ;D)

Your right you need to price each house on its own merits....going by pricing per window is ok, but doesn't take into account access issues, difficulty of the clean etc.

Pricing by working out the time it would take to clean the house gets easier as you get more experience. Some you will find will take longer than you had thought, some will be quicker.... so long as overall you find the middle ground then you won't go far wrong.

Again with bigger houses apply the same principle...one tip I would give you is if in doubt price the job based on the highest price you are thinking, as you don't want to underprice the job and then feel demotivated each time you have to clean it.

i do a few houses that are the same build wise, but have to get ladders off on some to go over garage etc roof so i put a £1 on for this and seems to work out nicely......
remember time is money , if u faffing about fetching ladders off u might as well of tradded em so price properly.
i do 2 next door for instance 1 is wfp no access issues , 2nd is over garage roof to get to back ( while she lies on settee lazy cow )
1st is £8 2nd is £9

Howe can you quote FOC for a fiver FOC means FOC free of charge ;)
