Title: Egg at height?
Post by: LHill on September 21, 2011, 02:41:56 pm
Came across some egg today about 30ft high, which I am told has been there for at least 2 years.

What would you suggest to clean it, without using a ladder or scraper?

From the inside, soak it well and then loads of elbow grease? ;D

Egg at height is a nightmare. I find it very hit and miss; usually miss.
I find it much easier to egg a ground floor window with accuracy.

Remove brush from pole, replace with soaped up applicator agitate egg deposit, fit scraper onto WFP scrap off egg, replace brush & wash in normal way. :)

I've found if it's been there that long it will come off easier, even wfp. Hot wfp would probably be even better.

Soak with TFR.

Leave to soak for a minute or two.

Fix 6" wide scraper with unused blades to WFP using cable ties.

Scrape off.

I'm thinking I'll get the doodlebug from gardiners and the reach around..

Apply TFR with the pad..

Then scrap off..

I have two doodlebugs, one of which is trimmed down to about a third of its original size.
The small one works much better due to the extra pressure on the glass.
Also,  the thin white pads work better than the thick ones again due to the extra pressure.

I had a similar problem some time ago, I just soaked brush , added a drop of fairy and some Oil-flo and worked it away, just remember to rinse well.
