nice find...
i read another post on another forum touting the idea of a thermos style tank.
-
Are they baffled tanks?
-
how will the water stay hot all day?
-
what about a fogwell hotwash, one of these tanks and this http://www.cedaronics.co.uk/.
Perfect hot system?!?!
any improvments?

It is same filled with principle as a flask filled with tea, coffee, or soup that keeps it piping hot all day.
Brilliant but simple ;D

makes sense to be honest

Maybe an immersion heater to heat the water?
-
I'm not so sure, they are GRP tanks intended for static use not bouncing about in the back of a van with water sloshing about in them
-
you will need to heat the water some way first as in freezing conditions the hoses will freeze on the ground still

you can also get heat jackets to fit over ibc tanks

Or like I have for the last five years - put insulation round your tank van or storage - I use celotex with ply for strength. Or if static just a featherboard erection (oooh errrrr ;D) around it.
Drop an immersion heater with thermostat or pond heater in overnight depending on whether you want hot or frost-protection only.
I have worked through the last two winters - with no immersion heater - just frost protection and oilfilled rads.
HOWEVER - on demand hot is useful all year round I guess for first cleans, manky conny roofs etc.

simple way around that is add some isopropiny, (cant spell it lol) l its cheap, stops the water freezing and does not effect the water tds

question here...
we use DI to purify our water....now, can one use hot water through the resin?....or does it damage/degrade it?
if not, then i could pump hot tap water through my vessels, straight into the insulated water tank???
thoughts?
-
ISOPROPANOL , the great debate some say it works (me ) , others say no it does'nt going to heat water in static tank then transfer in the morning but will insulate both tanks as much as possible and see how things go trail and error

yes i have done this, and yes it does reduce the life of the resin by half, but it is that or dont bother working, and lose money, so temp it will still make you money, a bag of resin lasts me a year at £65 so if it costs me that for 4 months i still profit a lot, weigh it up

thanks for the info :)

I go with the iso. Ok, it's expensive, but does the trick, and in reality you don't need it every day do you? I still have some over from last winter.

These tanks are NOT for water fed pole window cleaning.....................You STILL need to heat the water before it goes in and here lies the problem..................i fill with my hot water at home...WRONG..unless you have a big enough tank in your loft which none of us do,i drill a hole in the bottom and fit a element......WRONG........these tanks are even THICKER than the normal tanks and you can only just about attach an element to them!!!................solution............try fitting an element in your original tank, this CAN be done but must be done with great care see past threads for info......or SAVE up which is what i am personnally doing and have a ionics/pure freedom hotbox etc etc ....PROFESSIONALLY fitted and if you work an extra 2/3 weeks at winter time from what you have in the past it will have paid for itself in the first winter..........
