Today . my Pole broke , well the adaptor did, regardless, of that , i had to get my Tucker Pole out , which only comes out on occasions ,, heavy as it is ,, the brush , is probabl the best you can get .
I`ve had Vikan , and a Brodex ,and unger
The time has come to get some thing new ,.
Is there a brush out there , that offers the scrubbing ability that Tucker offers , and what the Brodex brush offers , ?
What do you prefer and Why ?
Regards

I use any one of 8 different brushes and found there was no one brush that did it all. So start spending some money and find your own prefered brush. I like the Richards RS AERIAL red brush for initial and a soft splay for regulars with a 6.5 oz swivel for work over 50ft so no one brush really.

best brush i ever used is

for all work under 25 foot there is only 1 brush to use . the vikan 12 inch with fans . superb scrubbing and lasts ages . mine has been on 2 years and the bristles still look new .anyone concerned about the weight , at such low heights it isnt an issue . anything higher and i cant comment . for all the fairies out there , you can always use a make up brush from gardiners ;)
-
weight is an issue IMO esp if you have a lot of deep extensions to reach over so the gardiners supalite dual trim flocked/mono brushes are the best for me.i have a extreme flocked which ill be using now as i left my flocked SL at a job this morning and went back and it had gone!! :'( :'(
i have a vikan mono and vikan stiff sill brush but they have been sitting in my storage space for over a year now.great brushes just too heavy!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Gardiner white Xtreme. ;)
Only go with Vikan if you are a glutton for punishment, like self torture, heavily into weight lifting, a sadist or like to give your competition a head start!! ;)
-
Aerial for me also, i've got a red and a black.

gardiner brush 165g can not go wrong ;)

I found vikan flocked 12inch rectangular the best scrubbing brush.
Gardiners sl mono poor scrubbing.
Gardiners sl flocked OK and light but does not clean as well as the vikan.
Planning to try Gardiners new sill brush and also going to try vikan flocked sill brush.

brodex do good brushes
-
gardiners extreme standard single trim , but really tempted by their new sill brush.

;D
The old proper Basil, too; brown teeth an' all.

i love the ariel brush, but recently been using the radius sill brush, which is great, as i dont have to adjust the adapter for sills now, both brushes are excellent though
-
What about the Dr Squeegees Sill Saver from window cleaning warehouse???
anyone use it???
-
I've got the Gardiners Xtreme brush on my pole for maintenance work, and it simply never comes off unless I need to do first cleans/velux/conservatory roofs. But like Jeff said, there isn't really a do it all brush.

To be honest I'd rather buy 10 Superlite xtreme brushes then one brick on a stick like the Vikan. :D
Even if you are fit you just can't match the speed an xtreme offers. In my opinion weight is still an issue even under 25ft. Not an issue of how strong you are, but merely how quick you can actually be.

there has been a few good brushes on the market over time regardless of how heavy, ive tried most from hogs hair to ionic crinkled brush to supermarket brushes, ive had one to many brushes over the time, but to me its one of the most important items we use. the tucker brushes are quality then came the mk1 single trim from Alex the one with the white stock it was close cleaning power to the tucker but lighter, then came the extreme black soft top quality brush for its size, the extreme sill should go a long way too, but for me the one i use now is a hybrid its cleaning power is top notch and is light too its almost the perfect brush but almost not quite perfect but what is perfect, but its the best all round brush ive ever used so far its coped with it all. lightness is best way to follow as it will help with fatigue and less injuries, yes ive been a brush nut but who cares,
who put up the basil brush boom boom, quality
-
In layman's terms- the Vikan is the Horse & Cart & the Xtreme the Ferrari. ;D

I know they are heavy but IMO the Vikan cleans better than the sl brushes I have used. Have not tried an xtreme but as it has fewer bristles hard to imagine it cleaning better than the sl range.
I noticed this after switching to a vikan then cleaning the insides for the customer - the windows came up much better than when I had used an sl in the past.

He's back , the fountain of knowledge ;)
-
wimpro you have obviously been sniffing that glue that gardiners send you out every week . otherwise you would know that the vikan 12 inch is by far the best brush for all ground , first and second floor windows. any higher then you have a point . ;)
-

That about sums you up winproclean, 'Layman Terms' means 'You' don't have a specialised understanding of the subject
And some Vikan brushes do clean faster than the xtreme brush
If you know anything about the Italians or Italy and what they think of style and design you would'nt have even compared the exteme brush with anything Italian which has more in common with a £2.99 from the supermarket
If you do want to compare the equivalent window cleaning brush with a Ferrari then its the Aerial Brush, its been in a trade show in Italy and a couple of brushes even left in a Ferrari

Hi Richard
For the benefit of anyone reading-
Alex. is Richard, who happens to manufacture & sell the Aerial brush! :-[ Before he was Alex. he was Ewan. As Ewan, he researched the market for his brush which IMO is an over-priced, over-splayed, nothing other than a "tweaked" vikan! ;D
Myself, I have no assosiation with any manufacturer or product but only 7.5 years of wfp experience.
If you are serious about wfp & want an easier & more productive day, then IMO you should discount anything Vikan (even at ground level!). As for the Aerial? try it, according to it's creator (Alex.) it will even wash the dishes at the end of the day! ;D
I have a shed full of Vikans at my disposal, they gather dust apart from one, which I clean my van with! ;)
Unfortunately for Alex. His knowledge is very limited! ;D

Mallet mu'lad, stick to the comedy son, it's far better than any wfp advice you can give! :-*

how much do you want for your vikans. oh hang on ive only had mine 2 years , let me know when your selling em in 2015. when your gardiners wears out next week post it on our lasses mascara brush has just worn out . ;D chill winston ;D

I would genuinely rather miss a days work than go out with one of them on the end Bazza!! ;D

we will call it a draw then. ;D ;D till i get back in later on ;D

I have the best pole on the market which is the gardiners 25ft extreme pole. Its amazing to use! for me brush wise , vikans do clean very well and last well, however I couldn't possibly use a vikan on my extreme pole it would ruin it! I am stillot sure about the extreme brush either? cleans well but it looks to fragile and it splays to much for my liking. The only brushes I have used that I really like are......
1. Gardiners new cill brush medium dt white . Really good brush.
2. Gardiners dt flocked black brush.
3. The dt black brushes that ionics do are good brushes too. ;D
-
dunno about the best brush...tbh i quite like the unger sill brushes...but i can only compare to the ionics brush i have...and its so stiff that its awful....flicks water everywhere!!!!
-
Thanks for your comments , and the laughs Boom Boom (Basil Brush)
I`ve had the Vikan to Heavy , Tucker Brush , it quality , but comes at a price , and the pole weighs a lot , Brodex , for me have the best brush , sprays on the rinse ,and saves on a limited tank of water , sadly i dropped it and it snapped in two ,, photos can be supplied .....
Any way , Googled the nearest WFP company to me ,, and I think i got a result ,, bought it on Friday , not put it through its paces yet , but with holes drilled through the brush for weight reduction I might be on to a winner ,, will share with all , once i have used it , and know what I`m talking about .

Win Pro - I can tell you that the Aerial brush is far better than the gardiners SL Dual trim Mono by far - other than being slightly heavier. it is a very, very good brush - ONLY to be spoilt (if true) that Alex and Ewan are in fact Richard from Tecbuk - if this can be proven i would NEVER buy another item from this company
Vikans are so last century - very out of date compared with other makes of brush

Well, he is!
No doubt it's a decent brush & will suite some people (not me). The trouble is, he's way, way, way, way, way over-hyped it to the stage where people are struggling to believe anything that comes out of his mouth now!
When a good product hits the streets it's usually splattered all over the forums. The aerial gets mentioned every blue moon as a decent brush but nothing like Alex/Ewan/Richard proclaims it to be. His usual defence is that it's the user who isn't good enough to use it to it's full potential. This information is from various forums over the last 12 months or so.
-
Amongst other factors there is a VERY good chance that the weight of the brush on the end of your pole will decide when you retire incapacitated.
-
Best bristles = Vikan without a doubt.
Best brushes = Gardiners extremes. I prefer the soft black but it won't last like a Vikan however, my body will last a bit longer.
Ariel Brush - I'll never know because I have been put off by the idiot who posts about them and his underhand way of attacking Gardiners. For all I know it might be ok but was way overpriced when it came out and is smaller than Gardiners brushes.

yep he his full of something, :o

I got my SL DT flocked back today!i left it on a commercial job on friday and another domestic customer of mine picked it up and left it at my dads friends house!well happy.best brush for regular maintenance window cleaning IMO. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
the vikan brush in my opinion has been king for many years, and i am just surprised the company never picked up on it in the wfp industry, but alex of gardiners did 8) his new sill brush it really is less than half the weight, it does have less bristles, but are still positioned for cleaning the glass and sills simutaniously, i use it regular now with no stress on my neck or shoulders, i dont think any other brush can compete with it as i know of, in all the years i have been wfp, the radius sill is heaven, you wont understand until you have one,
-
Jouk45 , can you supply a link to what you speak so highly of please ,, I think i want one , to at least try
Thank you in adavance

I bought an elite 25 from The Water Fed Pole Co on friday , and so far so good ,,
