sorry to ask a naf question but funds are tight an dont want to keep waistin my cash if no good has ne of u used a heavy duty applicator pad like ettore porcupine or one which i have just seen on cleaning spot by unger which is two sided and has a complete scour pad on one side the reason im askin is i am havin to go over windows so much with my applicator as often i blade off an still there are bits on glass its 2 frequent a problem and time is money and all that i only changed mine recently to a pulex micro tiger which has strips sewn in to solve the problem but its still not that great i know u have to put a bit of effort in but i know i shouldnt have to scrub that much is theyre ne chance of these heavy duty ones scratchin glass cos ill need to use them all the time i reckon ???? ??? ::) :P :-[

In my opinion the more water the sleeve holds the better so all the ones you have spoke about are good but not the best on new cleans and really dirty glass.. The unger microfibre sleeve is very good and the best for your problem here this thing holds loads of water.. Years ago me and two others built a big round up and most of are days were new cleans this unger micro was by far the best we ever used hope this helps and good luck..

have you tried a wet microfibre very quickly before aplicating?
if its really stubborn then a razor?
ive tried every type of aplicator over the last 25years....they are all as good as each other
the scourers wear out quick...never got on with porcupine
just a normal one for me with hot soapy water...and anything stubbern gets the above methods :)

blue and white Tiger by SYR is really a good one. once its broken in the strands become similar to scrim cloth,rough-ish & good

If the windows are that bad that an applicator wont get the dirt off, you need to use the cloth you wipe the ledges down with, wet the window with your applicator then go over the window with the cloth then wet it up with the applicator again and then squeegee as normal, it'll work no problem

I tried the porcupine many years ago, never bought another, I tried a few over the years, but I only ever use the monsoon by unger, does all it needs to.

Me too, but I used one by ettore a while ago and it lasted much longer than the unger ones but I always forget to order them!

I have used Ettorre Porcupines for the last 15 years or so. I have used others along the way, but I think the Porcupine is the best. I have a 9 inch microfibre that I got from B & Q which is good because holds alot of water; I use that sometimes on the smaller windows.
