Hi Bill

Thats the difference between a normal risk policy and a full treatment risk policy.

the item you are working on is not covered as the insurance company would see this as bad workmanship, if damaged you would be expected to cover it,

Ask your broker to try Sutton Specialist risks, I think in past threads HSBC offer a full treament risk policy as well.

Hope this helps

Regards Nick

Try: http://www.norwichunionselfemployed.co.uk/

Got my insurance in Jan. It is relatively cheap, covers you for items you are working on (definately) and you can pick and choose what elements you want - like a package, stock, public & products, business equipment etc, they even included money & assault cover which means your covered if you lose money (or have it stolen), up to £1,000 . From start to finish took 5 mins.

Sorted.

Cheers

Try Mcgregor loyd they are really good, i think you have to have had x years of experience or be a member of the NCCA to use them. I get all my insurance through them and im covered for £5000 treatment risk.

bit of cach 22 aint it Ollie as you need treatment risk and P/L to become a member of the NCCA.

Try Mill Hall around £400 for both Public/L and treatment risk and cover evrything just a matter of ticking boxes what you want cover for or not, were covered for all cleaning works hard floor kitchen tower ect but im starting too think this is a lot is that right am I  ???

i have just insured with the NFU, as with all brokers the policies seem to almost double if you have an emplyee
my cost for both of us is  £465.00 per year

anybody got any thoughts on this?

ps.  they do say that this policy will cover up to ten employees!!!!!!

pity i've only got one part timer!!!!
