Title: How long to get a newbie up to speed
Post by: AuRavelling79 on September 14, 2011, 05:10:48 pm
Lets say you are wfp and doing £200 on a 7 hour day. How long would you expect a complete newbie on the same work working with you to add a further
£100 a day
£150 a day
£200 a day

Days? Weeks? Months?

And if he had his own vehicle?

Anyone with a bit of savvy should be able to do 2 & 1/2 houses per hour  X 7 = 17 1/2 houses @ £10  =£175 per day.

even 2 house per hour for 7 hours @ £10 = £140.

As franky says the mechanics of WFP can be picked up quickly - what takes the time is learning the best order
to do things learning the round and finally all those little 'extras' you learn over the first year as the seasons change
ie.  from WFP in summer on a still day to winter on a windy day.

Also don't expect them to have the same 'drive' as you ! - when we work as a 2 man team we get approx 75% more work done than when on my own ( this after 4 months )  but when on his own the work rate is just under 50%
this is not a problem as pay is percentage of days money whether he takes 4 hrs or 8 .

maybe you might have a "good un" but i had  many crap guys who i had to get rid of after lots of hassle and losing a few customers that i vowed not to bother again and just stay on my own.
