Anyone put together a Camera system for surveying Gutters etc.
I will need a system that will record the video.
What did you use and where from.

I'm about to get one of the dogcams through the kit will be about 300 i tried the wireless one the same as what eastern trading do but thought it was poor mainly the wireless part kept getting poor reception at one point was even picking up tv on it instead of what the camera was looking at. Im sure there is a cheaper way to set one up but the dogcam is a great peace of kit

Is the Dogcam wireless?
If hard wired, would they be able to supply a cable at approx 15 mtrs or 45 ft
Just googling dogcam.

out of interest do you mount your cameras on the vac head or do you use seperate pole ??

Well for us we use a seperate pole but only cos there are 2 of us doing it I have use the vac with the camera on the top of the vac tube

that one there is not good enough for the length of cable you would require.. that particular camera will only handle a 5m cable so you need to upgrade the camera to handle a longer lenghth of cable ( you dont need a laptop as it comes with a monitor that records) what is also handy is you can charge the camera battery from a normal car cig ligter. this is the e-mail they sent me regarding what i would need to be able to use it for gutter surveys although dont think you would need the ultraclamp..

We have recently supplied many guttering companies with a solution using the MiniDVR3 system as a base kit but supplied with a very different camera. The camera supplied with the MiniDVR3 can only do a 5m run of cable.
The unit I am referring to is a HQ2 camera that can take a variety of extension form 1m, 2m, 5m & 10m lengths up to 50m when ‘daisy-chained’.

I have a brand new and boxed wireless camera and 4 inch lcd screen for sale, it doesn't record but you can view what your doing with it. paid £130 from Maplins will sell for £60

The Dogcam looks to be a decent bit of kit.
Anyone use the Omni Vac camera system. Just curious as to the quality of the system fo rtheir asking price.
Definitely need to record and to a decent quality.

No..i brought the clark 30 from gutter cleaning systems but i have used the camera that is the same as theres (ETS) but found it had a poor siginal quality and didn't want to risk turning up at someones house and having to mess about trying to get a signal to check out the guttering.
Ive gone for the dogcam as if you go on dave morris web site he has some video of the same camera used on some guttering and the picture quality is very good.

ive had no problems with it i got the genny to go with it aswell save needing the customer to be in plus its easy enough to lift out on my own (the main reason i brought this set up).. ive only really targeted domestics with the vac there has been a couple of times where ive had to go up and manually un block a down pipe but this has been compacted debri or ones with plants growing out of them, but there isn't a gutter vac system out there that would have shifted it either..

Erm yes there is we have done exactly that last thursday the down pipes were blocked with compacted pigeon crap/mud, it took a little perseverance but we got there our vac is 3x1000w, usually only use 2 motors for a normal clean this time we did have to use all 3 but we got there

i was refering to the ones i delt with..i have also used more powerful vacs but my current one does as good of a job as that did..

Gopro with motorsport fittings is what you want. (clips on to roll bars or handlebars or in our case poles) £220 on ebay for top end model 1080p or £170 for 720p model
