Title: Publishing Software
Post by: jacko on September 11, 2011, 01:19:46 pm
Hi all

Can you recommend good software for producing my fliers / ads etc? I currently use Serif Page plus x2  - but am sure there are better ones out there?

Thanks!

Hi,

Dont really understand why you would want to change, as Page Plus is a very poweful programme, yes most of the included content (Photo's, Clipart etc) is naff, but if you can scource some quality content, you can produce very high quality leaflets etc.

Publisher, is again a very powerful piece of software, but like Page Plus, scourcing quality content and taking the time to delve into the software and learn more than the basics will reap its own rewards.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Rob

Been using Page Plus since 1995 and have always found it brilliant for my needs. Very cheap and very complete. As Rob says Publisher is also very good.

If you start getting into PhotoShop and Corel and similar you'll soon find there are a lot of buttons to learn which I would rather leave to the pros.

It depends what you want to achieve. If it's a window cleaning flyer then Page Plus any time. If you need to design the front cover of Vogue then probably Photoshop  ;)

I have page plus 5 which I find is good and easy to use. I had an earlier version and find this one is heaps better.

I use it for pest control info leaflets with logos, text and photos as well as designing the bouncy castle flyers.
