Water in right, water comes out of the port on the far left end, the inner left port, is the waste tap

Looks exactly like my van mount Pure Freedom R/O mate

cheers chaps , hi lee long time no speak .
So i got it home and plugged it in right , i have about 80 psi tap pressure , ran for half hour , the best i could get was 16 ppm product from 85 ppm tap water , is this about right ?
My other question is how to backflush the thing , in simple terms as Lee put it .
Also how much would the RO be with the 10 inch sediment and carbon filters ?
You are gonna cry when i tell you what i paid for it !

On PF's site, think theyre around £250 for the membrane and the housing is about 100quid

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Pure glass , is that before VAT ?
do my readings make sense or do you think my membrane is shot ?
And how do you flush it ?

I'm probably not the best to ask about readings mate. My tap water is 450-470 and I get the ro down to 35 ish after a long time flushing
I only have a van mount and it goes through the two pre filters first.
As to how, I dunno mate, sorry

Pure glass no need to be sorry my man , im well happy with the info you have given me , i paid the grand sum of .........wait for it .....£30 , while i was there i also got a set of wheels with near on new tyres for my T4 for £20 ;D ;D ;D ;D
HAPPY DAYS :) :) :) :) :)
If anybody else knows how to flush this thing i still need a pointer cheers !

Did you run tapwater into it without the preflters ?
If yes then it will damage membrane as chlorine in water will knacker the 4040

It normally ought to be better TDS at that pressure but certainly not shot. I get 015 from mine but only at a pressure of 40ish. I find that the TDS drops for a while after changing the pre-filters. I turn the waste fully on a couple of times a week for about 10 - 15 minutes to help flush it.

Rich, I've missed you :-*
The inner port in the left should be a tap, you just open it fully so that you get lots of water coming out of the waste, if there is no tap on it you will need to fit one.
My 4040, produced 10 out with 375 going in, and a tap pressure of 80psi, so I would say that you membrane is either on it's way out, or the waste tap isn't adjusted properly to achieve your optimum tds.
