hi guys nned to get gum off shopping centre entrance mats. only got a hot box connected to cold pressure washer. these mats are just inside entrance so cant blast with hot water and lance. do i need a steamer?
mats are made of like a carpet type hessian stuff
-
remove the mats to outside and blast them, lowish pressure with heat. Ive dont this before.
Usually the mats are in a countersunk type of recess in the floor, you can prise them out and move them..

hi matt thanks. i could give this a go. but if they dont come out. is a gum cart the only option being indoors and no water allowed.?
-
im guessing so, but in my experience, ive never come across mats that cant be removed. although i havent done huge ammounts. Rob from M-clean does a fair few shopping centers he should know
-
wheres rob wen you need him?

We did some mats for Boots with dry steam. Did the job. Manager was impressed.

Just got in to loads of emails.
I have been cleaning a roof on an old Budgens in Heathfield - W Sussex, that will be a Sainsbury's on Tuesday morning!!!!.
As mentioned really. I am fortunate to have dry steam, hot box and a recent purchase from Roger
I would say that the info given is sound and should be followed.
I would only add that if you can offer the client the removal, clean & re glue before the store reopens this may look better than just I'll do what I can.
Make sure you know what you are going to be re gluing them with before removal. That is if dry steam is not an option.
Good luck
Rob ;D
