Hi Guys,
What do you think of this, If you get time try and out and let me know if you would make any changes,Or too cheap/too expensive on quoting.
Thought i would give the customer somthing to interact with on the site.

Cheers

10m x 10 m room, 100 sq metres £91.86
Glad you are not near me! :o :o
On the other hand if I get the work at my prices would you like to do it for yours?
-
Very nice, works well. However I would put a very clear, bold sentence on there that states this is just an estimate for guidance and all pricing will have to be confirmed upon arrival. I've lost count of the number of lounges I've turned up to clean that were only 3m x 3m according to Mrs Customer over the phone, and they suddenly doubled in size between the phone call and the appointment!
Be prepared for 6 pages of the same old whinging when people pick your prices to pieces! As long as you're happy charging what you're charging don't listen to anyone else ;)
There's 2 schools of though about publishing prices on your website. On one hand some folks say never do it because it allows your competition to undercut you, and also some customers can get put the wrong information in and get the wrong price which will cause problems both ways round (under or over quoted)
The other way of looking at it is that giving people a rough idea of what you charge will stop the price-shoppers from pestering you, if they have a "half price in your area for 2 weeks" leaflet in their hand and are phoning round trying to beat the prices on it!

The values are not set yet, It's a work in progress that will be finished of on Saturday so just trying to get some feedback. What's about right for a square meter and a square foot?
Thanks

Thanks for the info, I have never given customers price before seeing the job before but when i shop online i would like to know a rough price.
I'm going to put a page up shortly telling the how to measure there room size and that all quotes will be subject to us checking the sizes prior to starting.
Thanks

I think the values were set at £1.50 per sq meter and 30p per square foot, But is staggeres down the bigger it goes.

I haven't been putting leaflets out in his area Jim ;D

needs a back button incase they make a mistake like i did, i thought it meant steps, which to be honest, might be a better idea. i put 13 stairs and was shocked when i got the estimate, ha ha. doh!!!
-
It does say "stair cases" Derrick!!!

You can clean mine at £1.50 sq m.
Better value than 30p sq ft in fact half price.

You have put " Approximate cost"
Then put save your QUOTE.!!!
An estimate is an approximate cost
A QUOTE is a FIXED PRICE.
Which is it.?
Fixed and binding OR an estimate and changeable??
-
Not a lover of price calculators as potential clients can price check you against others and forget quality, internet customers more than any other I have come across shop by price first and then need selling to when offering a certain quality, I think you'll find enquiries going down, Chemdry offer a price calculator but they have a brand name and some people may expect their prices.

Just state on your website how much per sq m
and then they can use their own calculator to
work it out. Even mobiles have them now.

I like it :)
I bought some turf last year for the garden and I bought from a company using a price calculator like this one.
I didn't buy it from them because it was the cheapest but because I could work out what it cost without having to call, saved me time. And also I think if you don't have any kind of price guide people asume you are expensive, and if you do have prices people asume you are competative -along with a good website and some testimonials that should be enough to bag most customers that have have found your site, just have to make sure they find it!!
-
Seems a good idea too.
Let us all know how it gets on mate.
Def stops the price shoppers for a starter..
-
Simple and self explanatory - looks good

You are opening yourself to a massive headache. If you put a calculator on your website and people use it to work out how much it is going to cost them, then that is what they will want to pay you regardless of any "this is an estimate only" blurb you put at the bottom.
If I booked you and you said it was going to be more than the calculator stated, I would want to know why?
If you said it's because "my carpets were heavily soiled" or "there was furniture to move" or "it was three floors up". My reply would be that I never got asked those questions on the calculator so to me they must be irrelevant, I will pay what the calculator says I should pay.
Personnally I would make it simpler, have a fixed price for a single carpet up to a certain size, then a price for larger areas.
Just put in to clean three rooms all 4m x5m, come to £59.07 (£19.69/room)

Thanks for the info lads, Have put a few updates on now
Got some more work to do before we launch a full ADwords campaign :)
Thanks
-
Chris,
Did you do it yourself or have it done for you?

I Like the online quote calculator. For me it's a better way of working that seems more open and upfront. Well done, I think its the way to go. :D
