Title: Best van insurer?
Post by: Andy Prittchard on September 07, 2011, 04:03:37 pm
Who's the best to insure your van with?

Do you tell them if you have fitted a split charge relay?  Direct Line are getting 'funny' with me about it.

Need to change.

Ta.

DL won't insure my van with mods and won't insure unless tank 'professionally' fitted.  (whatever that means)

stephen eyre at G.T.Insurance, he is very helpful, his  number is 0115 9394747, we have started going to him now as helpful and competetive, all our insurances are here, we had an unusual item to insure and he found out about it to make sure we were covered (not work related)
hope that helps

not a nodding dog (only wished it was) it was a medical piece of equipment for our little girl, he got in touch with the supplier of equipment to ensure it was covered,

Just signed with A Plan. Total cover inc fully kitted out van for 21 days if van damaged regardless of blame. Be careful, we were with another company who said we were insured but turns out we weren't due to tank being a modification, but they didnt mention this and took our money anyway (just cancellled them). Cant remember which one but some one offered cheaper rate if tank wasn't bolted down ??? ??? ???

i believe if its not bolted down then not a modification, less secure but cheaper to insure, just a bit mad
