Rant time!
Who else hates cleaning up after painters? I detest it as I often (but not always) find that when a customer tells their painter that they are having their carpets cleaned, the painter becomes less carefull with the paint strokes and less tidy with the dust sheets, resulting in the carpet looking like a piece of modern art.
Today, we charged an extra £50 as we went to a job that we quoted last week where the carpets needed cleaned but had no paint on them. Today, we went in and the painter had gone crazy. 2 weeks ago, we walked off a job where we had quoted £90 to do a straight forward clean on a heavily soiled shop floor with carpet tiles only to be greeted with yet another crazy amount of paint on the carpet. Some people must think we are magicians!
I now advise my customers not to tell the painters that we are going in after them.
Raging!!! >:(

Totally empathize with that one Linds.
The deaf woman tracked me down and I had to do the job ;D
She said "who are you"
"THE CARPET CLEANER"
She said "I thought they were sending a man" ;D
Then asked my prep man if he was my wee sister.
You got to luv them. She put loads of Fairy liquid on the stains, so with in no time foaming probs and never had any defoamer, a few squirts of POG sorted it out.
Its never dull being a carpet cleaner. 8)

It's awful, I don't mind the odd bit of paint. But when it becomes an 80/20 painting i become a bit bitter.
