Hello i hope everyone is well??
We have a first enquiry for our carpet cleaning....well rug cleaning!
The customers sent a text today requesting a quote for cleaning a 140 X 200CM shag pile rug.
Theres no mention of fibre type but i`d imagine its a poly or wool rug or combo??!
Any ideas on the going rate for shag pile rug of this size?
We have done local research into carpet cleaning pricing, but rug cleaning is not so widely available ;D
Any input would be great!!

These types of rug are a pain to clean and pre-vacuum a bigger nightmere.
If you have little experience Id decline this job for now. Other wise say £2 a sqft and see if you get it.

Hi Mark, thank you for the reply!
I was a little dubious at first as there is a similar rug problem topic on this forum where someone extraction cleaned a rug and the fibre went up the hose!!!
I will give the customer a call tommorow for more information on the rug i.e backing and fibre and take it from there. The price is fair at £2 per sq ft, so thanks for that!
I let you know how it goes!!

one single rug? you'll be wanting minimum charge i'd have thought.
also who uses texts? seems odd
finally do you find you get much use for the rug doctor? how much did it cost to set up and how easy to rent out? e.g. problems with damage etc?

£2/sqft is too loo imo.
The prevaccing will need to be done with a crevice tool if its heavy soiled.
Drying will be the next issue. Dependant on colour you may want to dry it face down on a drying table or rack with an airmover.
