Mike

Why don't you join the Buy With Confidence Scheme - for me it was a no-brainer

See this link:

I considered the alternatives but lets face it the people who run Checkatrade have a vested interest in accepting people for membership as they pay money to belong so its going to be difficult to turn people away - ITS A BUSINESS

Your local county council and by implication the trading standards departments already spend your money like it was going out of style in the rates etc so why not get something back from a well organised INDEPENDENT scheme - yes you still have to pay to join but they come and visit you and vet your business and THE MOST IMPORTANT point for me was that if by chance you do have a problem you already have an avenue set up to be able to sort it out with a customer

It gives your customers that extra feeling of dealing with a decent and straightforward trader who is not going to rip them off - the more people who join the better - I have a link on my webpage so people can go thru and find what it is all about - its most important feature is that it is (in effect) a local government organisation and has that extra - also you can get feedback independently monitored with reply paid cards - makes you look like a good guy - which of course we all are on here - let us know what happens with Bedfordshire - it was started by Hampshire but is spreading all over the country now
