£245 here ....ouch
http://www.wcsuk.com/acatalog/Tangential_Vacuum_Motors.html

or you could retrofit to a pair of 5.7 motors for less than half that .

Expensive yes compared to cheapy ones but you do get what you pay for. I constantly hear about poor quality vac motors lasting only a few months from people on this site but they still buy them again and again and again!!.

I have two of the Extracta vac motors in my machine and they are both over 3 years old and still going strong (if looked after correctly). Is it not worth investing in quality than buying crap over and over?

Yes if price is no big deal , go for it .
I didn't say fit cheapy anything ...  just saying if one vac is gone , the second may be as old ...  he could fit a pair of new Lamb 5.7 for 100 each .

As far as i can can google ...  performance is pretty much the same . The 7.2 may run a bit cooler , but the blade width , extra mass means  bearing life is no greater .
