Title: One for the tm users

I always make a point of parking the van so that the tm is offset from the front door, however I've just set off another carbon monoxide alarm (3rd time its happened). Are the levels of CO dangerous, and is there any way to lower them?

and can you turn the burgers off?

i look out for them now and banish them from the house while i'm working.

can't see it being any more dangerous than walking down a busy street.

I had this on an EOT once, terraced one-way street, parking situation meant my exhaust pointing right in the door!

The damn things ended up in the oven.

I would think the only way you could stop them going off would be to wrap them up in clingfilm or a plastic bag or something.

Mine's LPG Doug, still get it!  Those sensors are very sensitive.

you can take the batteries out of those things and they still keep beeping. ;D

in the oven, i like that one.

Never had it happen since going LPG, but a couple of times when on petrol. Simple answer is don't have the exhaust pointing in the direction of the house (Inc open windows) or get an exhaust deflector. Mine goes through the van floor.

I've got a transit, you can't get it put through the floor because of the chassis, there's a great big steel girder right where you'd need to drill through :(

Derek you cant get at the damn batteries in them, that's the problem!  The oven is a very effective sound-muffler, and they get quieter the hotter it gets ;D

Hi
When I ran a tm I made an exhaust diverter out of air conditioning duct.
4" circular tubes in 3 sections
1st section protruded from the exhaust at an angle until it lay free from the van. 2nd section was double folded so that the first 2 parts could swivel. 3rd section was angled to point at a 40 degree angle & this was welded onto section 2.
Worked very well, I'm sure that you could employ the services of a fabricator to make one up at a reasonable cost?

When I couldn´t put the hose thru the floor on certain vans I bought a metre or two of rubber marine exhaust hose and slipped it on when needed. It comes in all the different diameters that you need and heat never affects it.
That is the same stuff that HM used on one of my first machines.

Use an over shoe to slip over detectors, quick and easy.

Over shoe is a good idea, except in this instance it was a neighbours house (terrace)
